Trio of network industry veterans to lead growth at Alkira
Top marketing, operations and sales execs join leadership team at cloud networking disruptor

SAN JOSE, CA – May 17, 2022 – Alkira has added three top networking industry executives to lead sales, marketing and operations as it continues on its mission to reinvent networking for the cloud.

Ahmed Datoo brings experience from Citrix, Zenprise, Inkling and Mesmer to the role of Chief Marketing Officer at the fast-growing cloud networking firm.

Harbrinder Kang joins Alkira as VP of People and Operations from Cisco, where he led the Cisco Networking Academy.

Kevin Kramer, formerly with SD-WAN vendor Silver Peak, now part of Hewlett-Packard Enterprises, becomes Head of North American Sales.

Amir Khan, Alkira CEO and co-founder, said: “Great companies start with great teams. Harbrinder, Kevin and Ahmed are among the best in the business. I’m super-excited to welcome them on-board.

“These guys rode the wave of innovation that led to software-defined networking. They have the experience and battle-scars to put Alkira in the vanguard of the next revolution, reinventing the network for the cloud era.”

New CMO Ahmed Datoo, said: “I’ve been lucky to work for several disruptive companies. Two things stood out about Alkira. The product is truly magical. And the number of Fortune 500 companies that are already customers is impressive.”

Harbrinder Kang, VP People and Operations, said his role would be to stop Alkira becoming a victim of its own success: “I’ve seen at first hand the challenges of rapid growth at companies like Cisco and NetApp. I love that the founders of Alkira take a people-first approach to building the business. I’m excited to make Alkira one of the best places to work.”

As Head of Sales, Kevin Kramer was attracted by the strength of the Alkira solution. “All sales people ever ask for is an insanely great product. I knew Alkira would be big when I saw customers build entire global networks in a couple of hours.”

Alkira was founded in 2018 after the sale of Amir and Atif Khan’s SD-WAN venture Viptela to Cisco. Its backers include Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Koch Disruptive Technologies and GV, the venture capital arm of Google’s parent company Alphabet.
